Monday Wave Check

The latest storm leaves us some fun size surf.

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it looks like the latest storm has left us with some fun size surf out there.  And oddly enough the conditions are much cleaner than one would think after all the crazy winds.

It's fairly clean, with some texture on it at some spots.  As far as the surf goes...we're seeing a mixture of energy out there.  We've got mostly modest lingering southerly windswell and some west northwest energy in the water.

That recipe is offering some fast sectiony lines, with some nice corners.  Most Seal Beach spots are running about waist to chest high, with the standout south facing breaks pulling shoulder high waves, with some larger sets.

At 5:07 early this morning the tide drained out to a negative 0.8 low which will have several spots lacking water early on.  The tide then pushes back up to a 4.7 high at 11:16 a.m and then drops once again to a 0.5 low at 4:56 this afternoon.

If you must get wet, break out a 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees.  Good luck out there!

FYI...County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the likelyhood of increased bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
