UPDATE: Mystery Surrounds Missing Person Search of Seal Beach Area Woman

A critical, cross-county search today for a dementia suffering woman last seen in Huntington Beach, though her vehicle found in Lytle Creek.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA—The Huntington Beach Police Department, in an effort to keep the public informed on the missing woman, Willie Jim Norman, released information on her vehicle. It was reportedly discovered abandoned on an isolated Forest Service Road.

"On Sunday, August 14, 2016, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to the Lytle Creek area after Norman’s vehicle was found abandoned on an isolated Forest Service Road," they said.

The Sheriff’s West Valley Search and Rescue team and Sheriff’s K9 Bloodhounds are actively searching for Norman at this time.

Huntington Beach Police Department detectives are on scene and working with San Bernardino Search and Rescue in response.

Norman is black, about 5 feet tall and weighs about 145 pounds, according to authorities. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

A woman was reported missing yesterday from Huntington Beach. Now, San Bernardino sheriff's deputies plan to resume searching after sunrise today for a missing 81-year-old woman from Huntington Beach who is suffering from dementia and high blood pressure and needs her medications.

Willie Jim Norman was last contacted by her family at her home in Huntington Beach about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, according to Huntington Beach police.

Norman's blue 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was found abandoned on an isolated U.S. Forest Service road in Lytle Creek Sunday, authorities said. A San Bernardino sheriff's search and rescue team, along with sheriff's bloodhounds searched area on Sunday for any sign of the missing woman and planned to resume the search after dawn, said San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dispatch Supervisor Teresa Mendoza.

According to her family, Norman has a daily routine that involves about two miles of travel in the areas of Goldenwest Street and Warner Avenue, Edinger Avenue and Gothard Street and Beach Boulevard into Westminster to run errands and work out at a 24-hour Fitness Center.

Her daughter told Huntington Beach police her mother did not show for her usual Tuesday workout at noon at her 24-hour Fitness Center. Her daughter also told Huntington Beach police her mother's dementia and blood pressure medicine, which she needs to take daily, were left at her home. There has been no cell phone or debit card use by Norman since she disappeared, according to police.
