As temperatures continue to rise across Orange County, here's where to stay cool in Seal Beach.
SEAL BEACH, CA ā As temperatures continue to rise across the Golden State, prompting Gov. Gavin Newsom to issue a state of emergency and the National Weather Service to issue an excessive heat advisory through Tuesday, city officials have decided to open the city's cooling centers to residents.
Residents can find cooling centers across Orange County. In Seal Beach, residents looking to use a cooling center should be sure to call in advance to verify hours.

Temperatures across Orange County are expected to hit the triple digits by Labor Day weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

In Seal Beach, areas near the immediate coastline will be spared from most of the triple-digit heat. Residents can expect temperatures to slowly rise throughout the week, with forecasts calling for temperatures ranging from 83 to 92 degrees from Wednesday through Sunday, according to Accuweather.
On Labor Day, the heat wave will come to a head in Seal Beach with temperatures forecasted to reach 96 degrees.
The major heat wave is expected to scorch all of Southern California through the weekend, putting parts of Orange County at high risk for wildfire.
Health officials advise residents to stay indoors with air conditioning whenever possible, drink plenty of fluids and avoid hiking or other strenuous activity in extreme heat.
Children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles for even one minute.
