OC Husband Arrested For Suspected DUI After Hitting Wife with Truck

The victim suffered possible life-threatening injuries to her head, arms, legs and body, Anaheim police said. (Breaking)

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – A woman was critically injured when she was struck by a truck Saturday morning in Anaheim and her husband was arrested, authorities said.

It happened shortly before 1 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Lincoln Avenue, said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

Arriving officers found a woman suffering from multiple injuries to her head, arms, legs and body, Wyatt said. She was being cradled by her husband Eduardo Ayala, 25, of Anaheim.

"Preliminary investigation revealed Eduardo was reversing his 2002 Chevrolet truck in a carport and struck his wife with the vehicle," the sergeant said.

Paramedics took the woman to a hospital in critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries, Wyatt said. Ayala was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for suspicion of DUI causing injury.

Ayala was booked into the Orange County Sheriff's Intake and Release Center with bail set at $100,000 and a Tuesday appearance scheduled in the Central Jail Court.
