Orange County Chipotle Tests Pilot 'Carside' Service

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — Chipotle is testing out a pilot "carside" pickup service in Fountain Valley.

The Fountain Valley location at 18951 Brookhurst St is among at 29 in California at which the company is testing the program. The other 28 locations are in Santa Clara County.

Customers are asked to place their orders on the restaurant’s app by selecting “Carside Pickup” and then park their car as close as they can to the participating location.

Customers can have their food brought to their car by a Chipotle staff member by tapping the “I’m Here” button on the restaurant’s app.

Customers will also be able to select their vehicle type and color in the app, including typing in their car’s make.

“As our digital business evolves, we are continuing to explore ways to remove friction and increase access to our real food,” said Curt Garner, Chief Technology Officer.

“Chipotle Carside unlocks a new, highly convenient pick up experience for guests from our restaurants’ parking lots.”
