Police Suspect their May Be Multiple Victims of Hockey Coach Accused of Sexting Teen

A Long Beach hockey coach has been accused of inappropriate behavior toward a Orange County teen.

A teacher, who also coaches a female youth hockey team, was behind bars today on suspicion of sexting a girl in South Orange County.

Mark Falkowski of Long Beach, 38, who is a teacher at Magnolia Science Academy No. 3 in Carson, also coaches a female youth hockey team based in the Long Beach area, so investigators are concerned there might be more alleged victims, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock. He added that the team draws members from throughout the Southland. Investigators did not want to release the name of the team.

So far, Falkowski is not accused of molesting the girl, whose age was not released, but the investigation is ongoing, Hallock said.

Falkowski is accused of sending sexually charged text and email messages to the girl beginning in early 2014. He was also accused of having inappropriate conversations via Skype.

Falkowski was arrested Thursday afternoon after classes, Hallock said.

The alleged inappropriate relationship began while the victim was living in south Orange County and continued when she moved out of state, Hallock said.

Falkowski was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
