Popular Preschool Program May Not Have Enough Students To Continue

"Ready, Set, Go!" classes being offered by the City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department still has several openings for enrollment.

A once popular Los Alamitos preschool program could be cancelled this semester for lack of enrollment

The City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department is currently accepting registrations for the fall session of their popular preschool program, “Ready, Set, Go!” There are still openings in both the Tuesday and Thursday morning class for three-year-olds and in the afternoon class for three to four-year-olds. The afternoon class is in danger of cancellations unless more students enroll.

This program provides an opportunity for children to establish relationships while experiencing a thematic hands-on approach to learning. Three-year olds will develop language skills, cognitive, and gross motor development, and the four-year olds will make discoveries, solve problems, and think independently in a learning environment designed to capture their interest while progressing at their own individual pace.

The program runs from Thursday to Dec. 15. (There will be no class on Nov. 24.) The morning class is from 9:00am-12:00 noon, and the afternoon class is from 1:15-4:00pm. The cost for the 14-week program is $392. Parental involvement is required and includes assisting the instructor in at least four classes per session. Students must be age appropriate and potty trained, and birth certificates are required upon enrollment.
