Residents Urged To Attend Talk On Gun Violence At McGaugh Elementary
The presentation will be held this February and is free and open to the public. What to know.
SEAL BEACH, CA — The Seal Beach Police Department will be hosting a free presentation on gun violence Feb. 8, and residents are encouraged to attend and learn life-saving strategies on what to do in the event of an active shooter situation.
The presentation will be held at McGaugh Elementary School in partnership with the school's Parent-Teacher Association, according to a Seal Beach Police Department news release. The presentation will:
- Provide strategies to prevent and prepare for a potentially violent incident and/or active shooter.
- Provide options to enhance survival when confronted.
- Describe actions needed to safely interact with the responding police officers.
- Provide information on keeping firearms safely secured in the home.
The presentation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McGaugh Elementary School auditorium, located at 1698 Bolsa Avenue.

The presentation is free and open to the public, with no advance registration required.
Due to the graphic nature of the presentation, anyone under the age of 18 is discouraged from attending.
