Seal Beach Family Flees After Car Crashes Into Their Home

Firefighters used technical rescue skills to free a trapped driver who crashed into a Seal Beach garage.

SEAL BEACH, CA —A Seal Beach family fled their home Friday night after a car rammed into their garage. The driver was temporarily trapped after causing significant damage to the roof, according to Orange County Fire Authority's technical rescue team.

Just after 9:30 p.m., a driver crashed into a home at the 300 block of College Park Drive, obliterating the closed garage door.

Orange County Fire Authority firefighters raced to the scene to find the driver trapped inside the car. Realizing it was unsafe to remove him, firefighters called in the technical rescue team.

The patient was in stable condition upon his arrival at the hospital, they said. Both Seal Beach Police and Long Beach Fire Department assisted in the rescue of the driver.

The family was able to leave the home and no one else was injured in the crash.
