Seal Beach Man Sentenced For Fatal, Meth-Fueled Crash
A 19-year-old German tourist was killed in the December 2016 wreck on Westminster Avenue.

SEAL BEACH, CA ā A 25-year-old Seal Beach man was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for killing a 19-year-old German tourist in a methamphetamine-fueled collision.
Matthew Ryan Wood pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated Sept. 15. He also admitted the sale or transportation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a gun.
Wood was driving east on Westminster Avenue in Seal Beach about 2 p.m., Dec. 9, 2016, when his vehicle veered over the center median into oncoming traffic and slammed into a Kia Sedona, killing its driver, Lisa Schelborn, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Wood was under the influence of methamphetamine during the crash, prosecutors said.
