Seal Beach Motorcycle Cop Injured In Solo Crash: Report

Thursday afternoon, an officer riding in Long Beach downed his motorcycle while riding on Studebaker Road near 2nd Street.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A Seal Beach Police Department Motorcycle Officer was injured after a solo vehicle traffic collision Thursday, officials say.

An on-duty Seal Beach Police Officer was riding his Department motorcycle northbound on Studebaker Road near the intersection with 2nd Street in the City of Long Beach, Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The officer crashed in a single-vehicle incident and was injured, according to official reports.

The Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and took the officer by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. His injuries were not life-threatening, the department said.

The Long Beach Police Department is handling this investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and the collision's cause is not immediately known. Residents of the area have noted the afternoon was "extremely foggy" and that Studebaker Road is riddled with potholes.
