Seal Beach Throws the Party of a Century

Seal Beach will celebrate 100 years with the Centennial "Joy Zone" Carnival.

Seal Beach is throwing the party of a century Saturday with the Centennial ā€œJoy Zoneā€ Carnival.

The celebration of Seal Beach’s centennial honors Seal Beach’s earliest days as the playground of the Pacific. Famous for its Joy Zone in 1916, Seal Beach attracted thousands of visitors every week with its massive wood roller coaster, dance hall and a bathhouse.

Saturday’s carnival will feature rides, music, dancing, games, magic and puppet shows, and a fireworks display.
