Residents may see an increased law enforcement activity around the station for the duration of the exercise, officials said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Residents may notice an increase in law enforcement around town starting Monday as the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station will begin its annual security exercise.
The exercise is being done simultaneously with other United States Navy bases around the country and will involve drills and training for a "wide range of potential security scenarios," officials said.

"The drills are not in response to any specific threat, but are part of a regularly scheduled annual exercise developed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy security teams," Gregg Smith, public affairs officer for the Navy, said in a statement.
Residents may experience increased traffic around the station, and the base's loudspeaker and alarm system may be used during the exercise.
