SEE: Stolen Truck Pursued Across Southland Freeways, Friday

California Highway Patrol identified a stolen vehicle near Pomona, in a pursuit that reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

POMONA, CA —California Highway Patrol officers pursued what they believed to be a stolen pickup truck across Southland freeways, midday Friday. Two suspects, a man and a woman, were inside the truck during the pursuit.

What began in Pomona at approximately 10 a.m. reached the city streets of South Los Angeles an hour later, with the Chevrolet driver leaving freeways in an attempt to evade officers. Speeds upwards of 100 miles an hour were reached on the 110 Freeway, according to a report from Fox 11 News.

Los Angeles Police commanded the second half of the pursuit, following the driver through many populated streets in the area of Manchester and Central, reports say.

The suspect collided with another vehicle, and even rammed it while trying to flee, according to video from the scene. Ultimately, the vehicle's rim caught fire, and the pursuit was halted just before noon. A woman inside the truck was arrested by officers, though the driver fled on foot.

He was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police Officers around noon.
