SonRise Easter Service Heads to the Beach

The 5th annual SonRise Easter Service on the beach with First United Methodist Church will take place at 7 a.m. Sunday.

First United Methodist Church of Seal Beach will carry on the tradition of the sunrise Easter service with a mass on the beach Sunday morning.

About 150 people are expected to join the 7 a.m. service at the beach 8th Street parking lot. Dubbed, SonRise Service, the sunrise celebration symbolizes the resurrection of Christ on Easter morning when the women came to the tomb to prepare Jesus’ body only to discover that he had risen, said Rev. Tia Wildermuth.

Wildermuth’s sermon, entitled “No More Weeping,” will emphasize the joy and love in Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection.
