Rachel Fattal, a senior on Los Alamitos' girls water polo team and the O.C. Register's player of the year in 2010, told the newspaper nearly two weeks ago that she is "not close" to making her college decision.

Fattal will play for the U.S. at the FINA World Junior Women's Water Polo Championships next month in Italy. Earlier this summer, she helped SOCAL win the 21-and-under division at the Junior Olympics in Irvine.

Fattal, who excels on both offense and defense, is one of the prized recruits in the country. The first day girls water polo players can sign NCAA national letters of intent is Nov. 9.
