Stolen Car Rams Police, Driver Shot In Orange County
A stolen car suspect was shot and killed by Buena Park officers when the driver reversed and rammed the police car in Fullerton.

BUENA PARK, CA ā An attempt at a traffic stop had a deadly end in Fullerton, Monday, after officers attempted to halt the driver of a stolen SUV.
Buena Park officers attempted to pull over a Range Rover in the area of Gilbert Street and Moore Avenue, for traffic violations. The vehicle "yielded for the traffic stop, then after a few moments, reversed and rammed them," Fullerton Police Sgt. Jon Radus reported.
The officers were exiting their vehicle when the driver rammed the police car, which "triggered the fatal shooting by the police," he said.

"As the vehicle yielded, it then went into reverse and rammed the officers as they were getting out of their vehicle," triggering the officer-involved shooting, Radus said. The name of the deceased was not released as of this report.
The police officers were not injured.

The officers had body-worn cameras, as did their vehicle, and investigators will review the video, Radus said.
The Orange County District Attorney's Office are investigating the events that led to the shooting, which is routine in such cases according to the DA's office.
This incident was not related to the homicide reported earlier in the day at Cal State Fullerton, Radus said.
