SEAL BEACH, CA — Two Seal Beach residents were sleeping early Friday morning when an SUV crashed into their homes, according to media reports. The collision occurred in the intersection of Catalina Drive and Bayside Avenue in Seal Beach at just after 1:30 a.m.
For unknown reasons, the SUV slammed into one homeowner's garage and through the home, landing inside a neighbor's house. Police and Orange County Fire Authority firefighters responded to the scene.
Both the driver and passenger were injured in the crash, and were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A resident described the scene to media as feeling like she'd been through an earthquake.

"All of a sudden I heard this loud BOOM," resident Kim Mallar said to CBS2. "The whole house shook."
No one inside the homes was hurt, according to reports.
