The Los Alamitos Pop Warner teams remain hot taking it to teams all over the Southland

The Los Alamitos Pop Warner teams remain hot taking it to teams all over the Southland.

Tim Loya’s Junior Midget Team continued their winning ways despite taking on a very good Division 1 Junior Midget team from Orange this past weekend at Los Al High School. Loya’s spread offense is really causing problems for their opponents as they struggle to cover all of the receivers while trying to stop the run as well. Los Al Junior Midget proved too much for the opponent and with a score of 14-7 they move to 2-0 for the season.

Joe Valenzuela’s Junior Midget
team also came away with a big win over Saddleback Valley on the road 36-13.  Aidan Johnson had numerous TD's and had a touchdown return on a interception...Running Back Nick Valenzuela had the first touchdown of the game scamper 25 yards to the house. On defense , Andrew Arbarca, John Nieman, Zach  Ruiz had jarring hits. Our offensive and defensive line we lead by Dylan Pederson and Cade Bissel. Coach Valenzuela said: “If it wasn't for the play of both lines we would not have been successful .”

Coach Erick Jimenez’s Junior Mighty
Mite rocked their opponent in as many weeks. Here is his report:
The Jr. Mighty Mite Griffins got off to a lack luster start as a touchdown by Isiah Dorsey and extra point by Chauncey Sylvester were over shadowed by 3 touchdowns called back by holding penalties and 2 fumbles.  Still at half time the score was 7-0.

In the second half the horses went to work!  Sirr Bible, Ryan Diggle, Brennan Roth, Marcelo Sanchez, and Kapono Mao opened up valleys for running back  Kamar "Cadillac" Gabourel who had 3 touchdowns on 4 carries for 170 yards.  Aidan Houston had a quarterback sneak for a touchdown and threw an extra point TD pass to Jeremiah Jimenez.

The defense played stingy as they only gave up a late touchdown.  The final score was 32-7 and the young Griffins learned a valuable lesson. Show up to play a full game and never let the opposition think they have a chance...

Los Alamitos Pop Warner has a long history of success in the competitive Orange Empire Conference. They have advanced teams to the National Championships in Florida in December at ABC’s Wide World of Sports complex. Some of the areas brightest stars have come out of the LAPW program including All CIF running back Cody Paul.
