Thursday Surf Report

Needs a boost of energy!

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report.  Well, we're needing a boost of energy out there!  Yep, this part of the coast just doesn't seem to want to wake up lately.  So, yeah we're dealing with another day of pretty dismal surf, but if you have the time, head toward Huntington, where there are plenty of playful-size waves!

The conditions are nice and glassy early on, which is making it more appealing for a paddle if nothing else!  As far as the waves go ... we're seeing a very minimal combination of south-southwest swell and northwest windswell.

That recipe is offering this stretch of sand, with some little dumpy lines, with the occasional workable corner if you're riding a log or an SUP.  Most Seal Beach spots are running about ankle- to knee-high waves, with the top breaks picking up a few plus sets.

At 5:27 early this morning the tide climbed up to a 4.0 high, which could have some spots a little full early on.  The tide then drops to a 0.5 low at 11:45 later this morning and then pushes up again to a 5.1 high at 6:25 this evening.

If you're going to get wet, throw on no more than a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature hanging between 58 and 60 degrees.  Good luck out there!
