Tuesday Essentials: Major Freeway Closure, 405 Toll Road, and Library Project

Here's what you need to know for the week ahead.

Major Freeway Closure: The connector from the southbound San Diego Freeway (I-405) to the eastbound Garden Grove Freeway (SR-22) will be closed beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, July 26 continuing through 5 a.m. Monday, July 29.

405 Toll Road? OCTA will host a public hearing on proposals for expanding the 405 Freeway, including plans to add more lanes, carpool lanes or a toll road on Wednesday, July 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hill Classical Middle School, 1100 Iroquois Ave. in Long Beach. A series of informational boards will be set up around the meeting room, and project officials will be on hand to answer questions.

Chow Down for a Good Cause: Take a break from the kitchen this summer and support the Friends of the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library's Community Front Porch Project. Every Wed., June 26 - Aug. 14, eat out at one of our partnering restaurants on the scheduled date and part of the proceeds from your check will go to the Friends. This week’s participating restaurant is Hoff’s Hut.
