Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're still stuck in super-small mode, but occasionally there are a few fun ones, with the small wave equipment. However, if you don't mind doing a little driving farther south, we're seeing some pretty playful-size surf.
We're starting off with another day of great weather and clean conditions, which is making it a little more inviting out there. As far as the surf goes...there's a minimal mix of south-southwest swell and a little northwest energy in the water.
That's delivering some fast and drained-out little lines, with a few short corners. Once again, you'll definitely want to ride either a log or an SUP in this neck of the woods. Most Seal Beach spots are seeing ankle- to knee-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling some thigh- to occasional waist-high waves.

At 4:52 this morning, the tide drained out to a negative 0.5 low which will have many spots lacking water early on. So, once that tide fills in a bit, we should see things improve a little and get a bit more consistent. The tide pushes up to a 3.5 high at 11:18 later this morning and then drops again to a 2.0 low at 3:57 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, then you'll want to throw on at least that 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees. Good luck out there!
