Woman Assaulted In Seal Beach Home Store, Suspect Arrested

A suspected groper was arrested this weekend after he grabbed a woman at the Seal Beach Home Goods store, police say.

SEAL BEACH, CA —A woman shopping with her baby was grabbed against her will at a Seal Beach Home Goods store, police say. Following the attack, a 39-year-old Rialto man was arrested Sunday in the alleged attack, according to a Seal Beach police spokesman.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim was inside the Home Goods store at 12343 Seal Beach Blvd., said Seal Beach police Sgt. Nick Nicholas.

She was shopping, with her baby, when the suspect— identified as Ruben Erick Diaz— allegedly approached her and grabbed her buttocks, Nichols said.

The woman feared for the child's safety and reported the incident. Diaz was taken into custody without incident and booked for sexual battery and child endangerment, according to Nicholas.

Diaz was being held in the Orange County jail on $300,000 bail as of this report.
