101 Backed Up Following Major Injury Crash

Heading north on 101? It takes awhile for traffic to dissipate.

All lanes of U.S. Highway 101 have reopened in Redwood City after a major-injury crash blocked a portion of the roadway for about an hour, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash was reported at about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on northbound Highway 101 near Whipple Avenue, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

At least two vehicles are believed to have been involved, and one person was seriously injured, Bartlett said.

At about 10:45 a.m., the vehicles were moved off the highway and a Sig-alert was canceled.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
