AAUW Bridge Benefit offers Masters Points, Silent Auction

Earn Bridge Masters points, get Silent Auction Bargains, benefit local girls, have fun!




Local bridge players will have an opportunity to gain Masters points or play for fun while
helping local girls at the  annual  Benefit Bridge Party  sponsored by the Los Altos/Mtn. View branch
of  the American Association of University Women.  The fundraiser will
take place  April 25from 11:45 -4PM at the Los Altos Youth Center, One San Antonio Road, Los Altos.   The event includes both ACBL-sanctioned duplicate bridge and party bridge, as well as a frivolous Tripoli table  for the
bridge-impaired.

The fundraiser also features a Silent Auction.  Local residents and merchants have donated over $2000 in gift certificates for goods and services including a wine-tasting party for 10, , Berkeley Repertory Theatre  tickets, lecture series tickets, and much more.

The $25 registration fee includes light refreshments. Registrants are encouraged to register with partners or pre-arranged foursomes.  WE will do our best to fill table

The benefit will provide scholarships for girls from local middle schools to attend
the Tech Trek Science Camp at Stanford this summer.  Tech Trek is a
math/science camp designed to develop interest, excitement and self-confidence
in young women who will enter eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on
activities in math, science and related fields. The Tech Trek camps  originated at Stanford under the sponsorship
of the Palo Alto AAUW branch and have since spread to eight more university
campuses under the sponsorship of AAUW-California.  (More information about the Tech Trek camps
