Attorney Derryl H. Molina Fulfilling Full Life Care Planning Needs for 12 Years

Estate planning attorney Derryl H. Molina marks twelve years as a solo practitioner offering full life care planning.

Derryl H. Molina, founder of the Law Office of Derryl H. Molina, is proudly commemorating her twelfth anniversary since starting her own practice and offering clients full life care planning. “My goal has always been to help people better understand their situation and to think about their decisions in advance,” said Molina. “The only way to solve problems is to educate people so that they understand how to help themselves and can then make appropriate plans for their best interests.”

Molina focuses on individuals who need help caring for themselves and their needs during their lifetimes. She works with clients to create a full life care plan that typically includes estate planning, such as making a will or a trust and executing durable powers of attorney and health care directives.

Additionally, full life care planning entails nominating a guardian for underage children and appointing a conservator in case of incapacity. It also includes medical care planning, such as locating health and long-term care insurance, establishing and maintaining eligibility for SSI and Medicaid (Medi-Cal), and learning about health care providers. Disability planning includes special needs trusts and understanding SSDI. Tax and gift planning are other legal services included in or apart from the estate plan.

“It is a sad fact that all adults eventually diminish in their ability to care entirely for themselves,” said Molina. “Fortunately, a full life care plan allows individuals to maintain stability in their lives and ensures a good quality of life when they are no longer able to be their own main caregivers.”

Molina adds that approximately 70 percent of Americans want to be at home with loved ones until they pass away, but only about 25 percent actually die at home as a direct result of the lack of planning. “Having a life care plan provides families with the peace of mind and confidence that they have done what they can to ensure their best possible life conditions and to terminate that life according to their own wishes,” said Molina.
