BoAi Chorus sings at Foothills

On May 24 we welcome back BoAi Chorus as our guest choir providing their beautiful music for our worship service.

BoAi Chorus, founded in 1991, began as a group of parents seeking quality time while waiting for their children at a local Chinese school on Saturday mornings. Today, although the children have long since finished their Chinese school, the Saturday morning recitals continue as part of the chorus’s legacy. BoAi has grown to include over 50 members, in a wide range of ages. Most members are Chinese-American, with roots in Taiwan, China, and Southeast Asia. Most have a basic knowledge of music theory and read music. The chorus holds weekly recitals every Saturday morning at Foothills Congregational Church in Los Altos, except on holidays. Performances are mostly in SATB four-part harmony, with occasional smaller ensembles. BoAi gives large-scale performances every 2-3 years, and presents 2-3 smaller public performances each year.
