Citizen's Call Leads To Arrest Of Pair In Los Altos
The two men from Oakland were arrested this morning by the Los Altos police.

Los Altos police arrested two men from Oakland this morning after a sharp-eyed resident called in their suspicious behavior ... and a description of their vehicle.
Shortly after 9 a.m., the Los Altos Police Department received a call from a citizen reporting a suspicious vehicle in the area of Lockhaven and Stonehaven drives, and said he suspected that his mail possibly was stolen, police said. The caller provided a detailed description of the vehicle.
Officers located a vehicle matching the description and stopped it at Foothill Expressway and Grand Road, police said.

Stopped were the driver, Troy Fletcher, 40, and the passenger, 46-year-old Alphonzo Odom.
Police said Fletcher was driving with a suspended license and allegedly in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana while driving. Odom initially provided false identification to officers and had two outstanding felony warrants for burglary and identity theft, police said.

Fletcher was released with a citation, and Odom was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
At this time, it is unknown whether the suspects are tied to any other recent burglaries in the area, police said.
“The alert citizen who took immediate action by calling the Police Department did a great job,” said Police Chief Tuck Younis in a statement. “That is exactly what we want people to do, trust their instincts and call us if something seems suspicious.”
