Local High School Student Launches a Nonprofit Startup to promote Equal Learning Opportunity Technology Initiatives

EqOpTech Inc. redeploys technology tools to inspire underprivileged kids to pursue STEM education

EqOpTech. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, promotes using technology to provide equal learning opportunities for Science,Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in under-served communities.

Why EqOpTech – Equal Opportunity Technology

Even with the ubiquity of high-tech in Silicon Valley, kids from low income families do not have easy access to computers for learning purposes. At the same time, many businesses and families have older but fully functional computers that are collecting dust and eventually will end up in landfills. EqOpTech aims to redeploy these older technology tools to help kids gain easy access to excellent online education contents.

“Reusing technology gives disadvantaged children an equal opportunity to learn, compete and be successful in school,” said Terence Lee, CEO and Founder of EqOpTech. “At the same time, the program inspires our
