Local Women's Organizations Plan Event to Support Planned Parenthood.
Event to Focus on Women's Access to Health Services, including Family Planning, Contraception, and Abortion.
The Los Altos/Mountain View branch of the American Association of University Women will commemorate the 42nd Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade on January 22nd with a program featuring Linda Williams, CEO of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, and Dr. Jennifer Conti of Stanford University. The program is co-sponsored by Palo Alto AAUW, Sunnyvale-Cupertino AAUW, the Mtn. View – Los Altos League of Women Voters, Palo Alto League of Women Voters, and Planned Parenthood Mar Monte.
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) is the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the U.S., providing medical and education services to more than 250,000 people annually at over 30 health center locations in 42 counties in mid-California and northern Nevada. Ms. Williams is uniquely qualified to tell us about the actual services performed by Planned Parenthood, and the culture of fear and misinformation which has created the current opposition to the organization. Ms. Williams will speak on the continuing assaults against Planned Parenthood nation-wide, and offer action ideas to those who support reproductive rights.
Dr. Conti holds an MS in Jounalism from Columbia University as well as an MS in Clinical Research and Epidemiology from Stanford and an MD from the University of California. She is a frequent blogger on Slate.com and has received numerous awards including Best Resident Teacher at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine.

After the presentation, the audience will assemble in front of the Youth Center for a group photo session. All those present are encouraged to post photos on all their social media sites to step up for Pro-Choice and support Planned Parenthood.
The community is invited to share in the program on Friday, January 22, 2014, from noon to 1:30 PM, at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 N. San Antonio Road, Los Altos. A registration fee of $2 to defray expenses will be charged at the door.
