A brush fire has shut down part of state Highway 1 in Pescadero this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A downed electrical wire reportedly started the fire around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 1 and Pigeon Point Road, according to the CHP.
The highway was closed in both directions near the scene of the fire and traffic was being diverted to the Pigeon Point Road loop as of 9:30 a.m., according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
An estimate for the roadway's reopening was not immediately available. Fire crews were on scene to fight the blaze and PG&E personnel were called to repair the downed wire.
