📰 News we're reading

• Fur friends lead to family friends (losaltosonline.com) — Two Los Altos families have grown close thanks to the unlikely friendship between their dogs, Taffy and Cece, who first met at Egan Junior High's field. Regular playdates at the school and each other's Los Altos homes have turned casual encounters into a deep, ongoing bond that now includes birthday parties, shared routines, and plenty of muddy adventures.

• How three Bay Area students are making local government accessible (midpenpost.org) — Los Altos High School seniors Samuel and Patrick Zhang helped create SimpleCity, a free website that turns dense local government agendas—including those from the Los Altos School District—into clear summaries. Their goal is to make it easier for residents and students to understand decisions, follow issues, and speak up in local civic life without wading through pages of bureaucratic language.
