Police Log: Unlicensed Solicitor Reprimanded

Selected highlights from the Jan. 17-20 Los Altos Police logs include numerous traffic accidents, a check fraud report, and a recovered stolen vehicle.

The following information was provided by the Los Altos Police Department:

  • Commercial burglary: 8:01 a.m., Jan. 17, 1500 block of Arboleda Drive; report taken.
  • Commercial alarm: 7:24 p.m. Jan. 17, 300 block of Distel Circle; commercial alarm, determined to be user error.
  • Residential alarm: 9:17 a.m., Jan. 17, 400 block of Raquel Lane; residential alarm, determined to be user error.
  • Fraud: 10:44 a.m., Jan. 17, 1000 block of Braddale Ave.; police responded to a report of a check fraud. A report was taken.
  • Gas leaf blower violation: 11:39 a.m., Jan. 17, Pico Lane and East Portola Avenue; police responded to a report of a gas-powered leaf blower in use. Responding officer was unable to locate the user.
  • Residential alarm: 12:37 p.m., Jan. 17, 50 block of Oak St.; residential alarm, determined to be user error.
  • Residential alarm: 1:13 p.m., Jan. 17, 400 block of West Portola Ave.; residential alarm, determined to be user error.
  • Gas leaf blower violation: 9:10 a.m., Jan. 18, 700 block of Parma Way; responding officer met and advised user to stop.
  • Traffic accident: 12:15 p.m., Jan. 18, North San Antonio Road and West Portola Avenue, police responded to a major injury accident. A report was taken.
  • Traffic accident: 2:00 p.m., Jan. 18, El Camino Real and San Antonio Road, police responded to a report of a non-injury accident. Officers assisted parties involved with name exchanges.
  • Animal: 2:29 p.m., Jan. 18, 1000 block of Holt Ave.; police responded to a report of a loose dog. The dog was gone when officers arrived.
  • Solicitor: 5:37 p.m., Jan. 18, Monterey Place and Cypress Court; police responded to a report of an unlicensed solicitor. Officers reprimanded and released the subject.
  • Traffic accident: 1:40 p.m., Jan. 19, North San Antonio Road and Parsons Way; police responded to a report of a minor injury accident. A report was taken.
  • Hit-and-run accident: 2:06 p.m., Jan. 19, 2000 block of Grant Road; police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident. A report was taken.
  • Traffic accident: 2:41 p.m., Jan. 19, police responded to a non-injury accident. A report was taken.
  • Stolen vehicle: 4:49 p.m., Jan. 19, police responded to a cold report of a stolen vehicle. A report was taken.
  • Recovered stolen vehicle: 9:45 a.m., Jan. 20, 500 block of Milverton Road. Police recovered a stolen vehicle.
  • Residential alarm: 10:46 a.m., Jan. 20, 1000 block of Kensington Circle. Police responded to a report of a residential alarm; determined to be an alarm malfunction.
