Report Abandoned Vehicles to Get Them Towed Away

Most neighborhoods have them—vehicles that are parked for weeks or months and you have no idea who owns them. Leaves gather beneath them and a layer of dust forms.

You don’t have to put up with the eyesores. According to Los Altos Police Sgt. Cameron Shearer, here’s how to get rid of them:

• Gather details about the vehicle such as make, model, license plate and the exact address where it’s parked
• Phone the main number of the police department, 650-947-2770, to report it

The police department will send someone over to tag the vehicle. If it’s not moved within 72 hours it will be towed.
