Science Showcase of Local High Schools’ Curriculum Planned
Equipment on display could include O2 & CO2 probes, a Chemistry melting point apparatus and polarimeter.

What can you see through a digital microscope? How many blades are optimal on a wind turbine? These and other questions will be answered on Wednesday, October 16, when the Mountain View Los Altos High School Foundation (MVLA Foundation) is hosting a Science Showcase at 7 p.m. at Los Altos High School, 201 Almond Ave.
Parents and community members alike are invited to hear from several of the science teachers about the cutting edge curriculum and equipment at Mountain View and Los Altos high schools. Topics will include Chemistry, Biology, Physics and clean energy technologies. There will be current students giving demonstrations of the latest MVLA Foundation-funded science classroom equipment, as well as videos showing lab work and experiments in class.

In 2012, MVLA Foundation donated $150,000 to STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) curriculum enhancement including the purchase of state-of-the-art science equipment and math innovation programs. The Foundation plans to continue to funds STEM programs to support excellence in science and math education in the local public high schools.
