Shu-Hsien Ho with Poetry Book "Secret Flight" at Linden Tree Sun. Nov. 8 at 2PM

Writing instructor publishes her own book of poetry inspired by nature: Free event at local bookstore!

Secret Flight is a collection of nature-inspired poems that capture the wonder of fleeting moments, and the unexpected joys of encountering wildlife on West coast beaches, woods, and rivers. Shu-Hsien Ho teaches writing workshops to children and teens in the Bay Area. In recent years, she has published six anthologies of her students’ fiction: Strokes of Lightning, Real Heroes Wear Sneakers, Bones of Mystery, Encroaching Ink, Special Worlds, and Piercing the Unknown. When she is not teaching, Ms. Ho writes poems and stories inspired by visits to the beach and woods. Her poem, “Nature Takes Over,” was selected to appear in the anthology, By the Bay, (Bay Area Librarian Epublishers, 2015). Secret Flight is her first collection of poetry. 50% of the book sales will be donated to Pie Ranch, a local educational farm in Pescadero.
