BREAKING: Afternoon and evening classes continue as usual.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – An administration building at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills was briefly evacuated today because of a suspicious item found in a bathroom that was later deemed harmless, a school spokeswoman said.

Around 11:15 a.m., officers were notified of a suspicious item found in a restroom at Building 1900 that houses administration offices, college spokeswoman Lori Thomas said.

The building is in the middle of the campus located at 12345 El Monte Road.

Less than 50 people work at the building, which was evacuated as a precaution. Classes continued during the investigation, she said.

Campus police cordoned off the exterior breezeway and surrounding area as they conducted the investigation into the item with help from Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies, Thomas said.

All classes for the rest of the day will go on as scheduled, according to Thomas.
