31 SC Co. Costco Workers In 4 Stores Test For Coronavirus: Report

All stores have remained open to customers.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Coronavirus outbreaks have been confirmed at four different Santa Clara County stores, The San Jose Mercury News reports.

According to the report, 13 employees at the Sunnyvale store at 150 Lawrence Station Road have tested positive for COVID-19. An additional eight employees were sickened by the coronavirus at the San Jose store at Senter Road, and the Gilroy and Mountain View stores each reported six infected employees.

Costco recently posted a memo at its Sunnyvale store announcing that at least nine employees had tested positive for the coronavirus.

All stores have remained open to customers according to Dr. Marty Fenstersheib, who heads Santa Clara County’s testing task force, the report said.

“It looks like most of these cases came through their regular day-to-day activities and getting infected outside, as opposed to getting infected inside or infecting each other,” Fenstersheib told The Mercury News.
