Combustibles Kept In Closet Sparked Los Gatos Sports Bar Fire
Combustibles kept in a water heater closet sparked a three-alarm fire at a sports bar in downtown Los Gatos late Sunday night.

LOS GATOS - Combustibles kept in a water heater closet sparked a three-alarm fire at a sports bar in downtown Los Gatos late Sunday night, Santa Clara County fire officials said Monday.
The flammable objects including cleaning supplies, paper towels and electrical equipment were inside the closet during the blaze at Double D's Sports Grille, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded at 11:41 p.m. Sunday to the business located at 354 N. Santa Cruz Ave. on reports of smoke coming from the roof and flames coming from the inside the building, according to fire officials.

San Jose firefighters assisted in putting out the blaze, which was brought under control at 1:50 a.m. Monday, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
The fire caused an estimated $1.8 million in property damage and $450,000 in damage to contents, according to county fire spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler.
Crews had difficulty battling the fire because the one-story building had multiple roofs that created voids, Stuehler said.
The blaze was found in the attic, which sustained smoke and water damage, she said.
County firefighters were able to save some of the sports memorabilia collected in the business, according to Steuhler.
Crews remained at the scene Monday morning to clean up and put out any hot spots, she said. The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Once firefighters cleared the scene today, the building was released to the business owners, Steuhler said.
The bar, owned by brothers Dean and Darin Devincenzi, opened in 1996 and has been voted the best sports bar in Silicon Valley for 12 consecutive years, according to the business's website.
