Fatal South Bay Shooting Probed

The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office hasn't yet released the victim's identity according to police.

SAN JOSE, CA — The fatal shooting of a man in San Jose early Monday morning is under investigation, police said.

Officers responded at 4:42 a.m. to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue and found the victim, who had suffered at least one gunshot wound and died at the scene, according to police.

Police said the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office hasn’t yet released the victim’s identity.

No arrests have been made in this case and authorities haven’t released information about any potential suspects or motives.

All westbound lanes of Alum Rock Avenue and eastbound lanes of East Santa Clara Street at Highway 101, as well as the northbound Highway 101 off ramp to Alum Rock Avenue will be closed until about noon, police said.
