Man Who Molested 2 Girls Sentenced In SMC Courthouse: DA

The man was convicted of three felonies and faced 12 years in prison but did not receive the max sentence, prosecutors said.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man received a five-year prison sentence for lewd acts with a 12-year-old girl in 2015 and sexual battery and annoying a child for touching the 16-year-old in 2021, officials announced Tuesday.

Abraham Perez Cisneros, 46, was convicted April 8 by a jury for three felonies and six misdemeanors, including child molestation and sexual battery, involving two victims. He faced up to 12 years in a state prison, the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office announced.

Prosecutors said Cisneros molested his first victim, who was 12 at the time, in 2015. While the victim's parents initially did not report the incident, an anonymous note written at the victim's school eventually led the Redwood City Police Department to open an investigation, according to the district attorney’s office.

A second victim, a 16-year-old girl, reported in 2021 that Cisneros had molested her at their church, prosecutors said. This report prompted authorities to re-contact the first victim, securing a detailed statement that led to felony charges, officials said.
