Los Gatos Kiwanis Celebrates 100 Years

The Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos, representing Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Almaden Valley has a great reason to celebrate: they've been a community service non-profit organization in Los Gatos since December of 1923!

They started celebrating back in September 2023, with a kick-off event on the heels of their popular "Fiesta de Artes" and will be culminating the anniversary with a Gala at La Rinconada Country Club on Thursday March 28. Local Mayors and Council Members, County Supervisor Joe Simitian, Chief of Police Jamie Field and a host of other dignitaries will be there to help with the celebration.

Not only is this a banner year for the Club, but they've also just found out that they are a finalist in the Kiwanis International contest for signature projects for their "Los Gatos Art & Wine, Fiesta de Artes" held every September. Past winners have included everything from a Downs Syndrome Center built by a Kiwanis Club in Malaysia, to Kiwanis Special Games held annually at West Valley College. The reason that the Los Gatos Club and it's "Los Gatos Art & Wine, Fiesta de Artes" was chosen to represent the California, Nevada and Hawaii District of Kiwanis is due to its unique building of community: the festival provides entertainment from the best local bands, art from some of the best local and regional artisans, fine wines from the best local wineries, with local high school Key Clubs helping, all to benefit children, locally and globally.
