OLDER AMERICANS MONTH RESOURCE FAIR AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Los Gatos Saratoga Recreation's 55-plus Program presents a free Older Americans Month Resource Fair and Ice Cream Social at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 2 at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center, 208 E. Main St. in the large hall. More than 30 vendors will be present and there will be bone density testing for $20, plus blood pressure screenings. Bring old mercury thermometers and receive solar replacements. Bring household batteries, cell phones and eye glasses for recycling. Please tape end of batteries. Details: 408-354-1514.

ANNE-MARIE MCDERMOTT PERFORMS AT SUNSET CONCERT SERIES
The 2013 Sunset Concert Series at Saint Luke's Episcopal Church, 20 University Ave., presents Anne-Marie McDermott, solo piano recital, at 8 p.m. Friday, May 3. McDermott is an artist member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. She will be playing Bach—Goldberg Variations, BWV 988; andProkofiev—Piano Sonata #6 in A Major, Op. 82. World-class bicycle racing again makes its way to Los Gatos Saturday morning May 4 for the 40th annual Cat’s Hill Classic bicycle races presented by Mike’s Bikes and the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club. Races for all categories and levels start at 9:20 a.m. and continue through the day at the corner of Tait and Nicholson avenues. The women’s top category race will run for one hour starting at 3:55 p.m. The men’s professional and top-level class race will start at 5 p.m. and last for 1:15. This family friendly event is a perfect way to spend a Saturday. SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAIN FAIR IN LOS GATOS

The Santa Cruz Mountain Fair takes place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday May 4 at Building Blocks Cooperative Preschool, 23845 Summit Road in Los Gatos. The event is a fundraiser benefiting Building Blocks Cooperative Preschool and early childhood education program. It will feature local farms, artisans, culinary delights, a flea market, live music from local talent Michael Scott, local Native American drum builder and historian Coyate Creations and Luna Flame Fire Arts. The Loma Prieta Volunteer Fire team will also attend with their fire truck as well as a visit from “Smokey The Bear.” Details: Mia, 408-656-3056; or Tina, 408-666-2269. 

KIDS ROCK CONCERT

The Los Gatos Parent Nursery School, in cooperation with the Los Gatos Public Library, hosts its second free KIDS ROCK! concert 4-7 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Civic Center lawn at 110 E. Main St. All performers will be family-focused and appeal to younger children as well as their older siblings, and adult family members. Performances include Happy Birds parrot show, Andy Z and the Sun Kings Beatles tribute band. The parents of Los Gatos Parent Nursery School invite all families to join ours while we celebrate how music brings us all together! Bring a picnic dinner or enjoy the mouthwatering barbecue provided by local favorite C.B. Hannegan’s and refreshing treats from Jamba Juice! EVOLUTION OF GREEN: ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVISM IN SANTA CLARA VALLEY

Evolution of Green is an exhibit sharing the stories of those individuals and groups whose experiences have shaped the evolving narrative of the valley's environmental story for the past 50 years 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Friday and noon-4 p.m. Wednesday and Sunday through Sept. 1 at the History Museum of Los Gatos, 75 Church St. Details: 408-354-2646.

THE MUSEUMS OF LOS GATOS HIGH SCHOOL EXHIBITION

The Museums of Los Gatos presents its second annual Art + Tech + Culture: Santa Clara Countywide High School Art Exhibition through May 5 at Art Museum of Los Gatos, 4 Tait Ave. Event gives $10,000 in scholarships to winning students. Details: 408-354-2646.
