Police Open Fire At Juvenile Driver In San Jose

A California Highway Patrol officer opened fire at a juvenile driver who sped away from a traffic stop, according to the CHP.

SAN JOSE, CA — At least one California Highway Patrol officer opened fire in San Jose Monday night after a failed traffic stop, CHP officials said Tuesday.

Officers at 10:44 p.m. tried to stop the driver of a Ford Mustang that apparently had no taillights.

The juvenile driver did not yield but instead sped away dangerously, CHP officials said.

Officers pursued him to a cul-de-sac in San Jose where the Ford apparently collided with a patrol vehicle and at least one officer opened fire.

CHP officials said the boy drove away from the cul-de-sac and was later arrested. No one was injured in the shooting and CHP officials are still investigating it.
