Real-Life Cookie Monster: Man Allegedly Swipes Scout's Cash Box From Cookie Sales
The 10-year-old girl was selling Girl Scout cookies with her troop outside a San Jose supermarket.

Police identified a San Jose man who allegedly stole a cash box from a 10-year-old girl selling cookies with her Girl Scouts troop Sunday afternoon in San Jose.
Cody Gintz, 23, allegedly took the cash box from the girl by force around 2:45 p.m.
She was selling cookies outside of a Safeway grocery store, located at 1663 Branham Lane, with a group of Girl Scouts, police said.

Police arrived on scene and quickly put out a description of the suspect and the car he was driving, police said.
Other police officers responding to the scene spotted the car nearby and arrested Gintz.

The money and cash box were returned to the girl and her scouts troop.
Police said no injuries were reported. Gintz was booked in the Santa Clara County Jail, police said.
