San Jose Motorcyclist Killed In Santa Cruz Crash Is Identified
A San Jose motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday evening on state Highway 1 in Santa Cruz has been identified.

SANTA CRUZ - A San Jose motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday evening on state Highway 1 in Santa Cruz has been identified as 35-year-old Cesar Olaiz, according to the Santa Cruz County coroner's office.
Olaiz was driving a 2015 Yamaha R6 on southbound Highway 1 south of River Street around 7:15 p.m. at high speeds and lost control of the vehicle, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Authorities say the man crashed into a concrete wall, was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway.

Investigators are looking into whether or not he was struck by another vehicle that fled the scene, according to the CHP.

Officers haven't determined if drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or believes they saw a car hit the motorcyclist and leave the scene is asked to call the CHP Santa Cruz area office at (831) 662-0511.
