Winchester Mystery House Shutters Again Amid State Orders
The iconic mansion was forced to close amid state orders due to a surge of coronavirus cases in Santa Clara County.

SAN JOSE, CA — Just a day after opening its doors to visitors for the first time in months, the Winchester Mystery House had to shutter its storied mansion on orders from the state amid a surge of coronavirus cases locally.
The state forced Santa Clara County to roll back shelter-in-place orders the same day the county lifted restrictions on the reopening of high-risk businesses.
Gyms, barbershops and nail salons along with most indoor businesses such as the Winchester Mystery House were ordered to close the day they reopened on Monday.
