Woman Who Coughed On Baby At South Bay Business Sought
Police said the suspect was upset the lady behind her was not maintaining proper social distancing and purposely coughed in the baby's face.
SAN JOSE, CA — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a woman who coughed on a baby at a San Jose business, apparently upset over social distancing.
The suspect was standing in line at Yogurtland on 5638 Cottle Road in San Jose in front of a woman who was with her 1-year-old child, who was in a stroller, at around 5:25 p.m. on June 12, San Jose police said.
The incident was captured on surveillance video.

Police said the suspect was upset the woman behind her was not maintaining proper social distancing, and she then removed her face mask, got close to the baby’s face, and coughed two to three times.

The suspect left the scene and has not been identified or apprehended.
The incident is especially concerning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The suspect was described as a white female in her 60s with a medium build. She was wearing a gray bandana, glasses, a long sleeve shirt with gray vertical lines, white dress pants, and patterned tennis shoes.
