3 Malibu Swimmers Race in Jr. Olympics

The athletes are on the Westside Aquatics Swim Team, which practices at the Malibu High School pool.

This past weekend, three Malibu residents competed with the fastest and best swimmers in the region at Southern California Swimming's Short Course Younger Junior Olympic Championships. The meet took place at La Mirada Splash Regional Aquatic Center in La Mirada.

Amy Perna, 10, competed in the 50-yard breaststroke and she swam in the timed trials for the 100-yard breaststroke. Farah Stack, 12, competed in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard backstroke. Kennan Hotchkiss, 10, competed in the 100-backstroke, 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle.  

The three swimmers are on the Westside Aquatics Swim Team, which practices daily at the pool.
