• Los Angeles County placed under an extreme heat warning until Thursday evening (dailynews.com) — An extreme heat warning is in effect for Malibu and much of Los Angeles County through Thursday evening, with officials warning that heat-related illnesses are more likely. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, take frequent shade breaks, avoid alcohol and caffeine, and monitor official alert systems for any upgraded emergency notifications or information on nearby cooling centers.
• New California map shows wildfires scorching across the state amid heatwave (amedpost.com) — Malibu is feeling the latest brutal Southern California heat wave, with beachgoers seeking relief even as dangerous wildfires burn across the state. A new interactive map from Frontline Wildfire Defense shows where major fires, perimeters, and hotspots are active, highlighting heightened risk amid record-breaking temperatures and strong winds. Residents should stay alert to changing fire and heat advisories.
